Welcome to the King George VI New Zealand website.
The New Zealand King George VI Period commenced December 11, 1936 following by a day the abdication of King Edward VIII and is considered to have ended February 28, 1954, the date preceding the general issue of the first Queen Elizabeth II definitive postage stamps.
The purpose of the King George VI New Zealand website is to expand and make more widely available the body of philatelic knowledge and postal history relating to the postage stamps and postal stationery issued by New Zealand during the King George VI Period.
